What kind of game is Fresi & Mori?
Fresi & Mori is a binary logic puzzle, the same family as Takuzu and Binairo, with fruit instead of zeros and ones. Strawberry Fresi and blackberry Mori coach you through the first board and then leave you to it. There are no numbers to read and no guessing: each empty tile has exactly one correct fruit that the rules force.
The game is split into worlds. The first, Orchard, has 20 levels on 4×4 and 6×6 boards. Later worlds add twists such as baskets and ladybugs that change the rules.

Fresi & Mori rules
- Half and half. Every row and every column has the same number of strawberries and blackberries. On a 4×4 board that means two of each per line.
- Never three in a row. Three of the same fruit can never sit next to each other in a row or a column.
- Gold tiles are fixed. Tiles placed at the start cannot be changed.
Tap an empty tile once for a strawberry and twice for a blackberry. The small dots along the edges of the board turn green when that row or column is complete.
Level 1 solved, step by step
We solved Level 1 (Orchard, 4×4) on release day in 29 seconds with no hints. Here is the starting board, with S for strawberry, B for blackberry and a dot for an empty tile:
| Row | Start | Solved |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | · · B B | S S B B |
| 2 | · · · S | B B S S |
| 3 | S · · · | S B B S |
| 4 | · S S · | B S S B |

The order of reasoning:
- Row 1 already has its two blackberries, so both empty tiles are strawberries.
- Row 4 has two strawberries in the middle, so both ends are blackberries.
- Column 1 now reads S, ·, S, B. It needs two of each, so row 2 is a blackberry.
- Column 2 reads S, ·, ·, S. Both gaps must be blackberries.
- Row 2 now reads B, B, ·, S. It needs one more strawberry: column 3.
- Column 3 reads B, S, ·, S, so row 3 is a blackberry. That leaves row 3, column 4 as the last strawberry.

Stars, hints and unlocking worlds
- Stars: each level gives up to three. The level map shows a total of 300 stars, which means 100 levels.
- Target time: Level 1 has a 1:00 target. Beating it with no hints earned us a Perfect rating.
- Hints: you start with 5. A perfect clear added one more.
- Unlocks: the next world, Barn, opens at 12 stars. After our three-star Level 1 the map said 9 to go.
- Daily challenge: the same board for every player each day. Sharing your time from the win screen sends friends a link to that board.

Solving tips that work on every board
- Pairs: two identical fruits side by side must have the other fruit on both ends.
- Sandwiches: in a pattern like S · S, the middle tile must be a blackberry, or you would have three strawberries.
- Counting: once a line holds its half of one fruit, every remaining tile in that line is the other fruit. This rule alone solved most of Level 1.
- Columns too: after each move, check the column you just changed, not only the row.
- Save hints for big boards. You start with 5 and earn more through perfect clears, and on 4×4 boards the counting rule is almost always enough.
